Product Spotlight: Wave Panel

McElroy now offers a new and improved wave panel that is available in both fixed and floating systems. Wave Panel is a concealed fastener wall panel, resulting in a monolithic and aesthetically pleasing appearance, requiring minimum maintenance. In most cases, it’s installed horizontally, but can be installed vertically. Wave Panel is produced from 24-gauge Galvalume and offers 16 inches of coverage with profile ribs measuring ¾-inch high. Wave Panel can be installed with an integral fastening flange which is roll formed into the panel during the manufacturing process and can be utilize for panel lengths 40’ or less.

Featured Project: designCRAFT

Design Firm in Madison, WI

Replacing the aged and dated vinyl siding on the façade of a commercial building with a combination of metal, provided by McElroy Metal, and wood was an award-winning decision.

The project received the 2016 Mayor’s Design Award for Office and Façade Renovation.

The customer wanted to find a way to highlight the curved part of the building. The owners were looking to rejuvenate the appearance of the office, with its tired vinyl siding. Specifying materials that would navigate the curvature of the building were a key to the success of the project. Wave Panel helped bring it all together.

Technical Tips

  • Avoid using dissimilar materials such as copper, lead, and graphite as they will cause premature corrosion. For more information click here.
  • Hoisting equipment is necessary to unload and position panels and accessory crates for site storage and installation. Nylon slings will be required to avoid panel damage.
  • MCA has recently released a White Paper on Application Guidelines for Field-Applied Tough-Up Paint Systems on Metal Panels. For more information click here.
