Shifts in today’s world have everyone wondering how we can reduce our carbon footprint. Solar panels are an increasingly popular way to create sustainability in homes and businesses, and they pair perfectly with metal roofs. Unlike shingle roofs, which require drilling holes during solar panel installation, metal panels attach without penetrating the roof, keeping the roof intact.
Companies like McElroy Metal are installing solar panels on their facilities’ metal roofs to help decrease power expenses, save on taxes, and help the planet. McElroy’s solar journey began in 2014 in Peachtree City, Georgia, and continues today with our eighth installment at the Bossier City, Louisiana facility.
To date, we have an annual kilowatt-hour (kWh) savings of 3,355,513, which is the equivalent of planting nearly 59,000 trees.Click here to read about other annual environmental savings.
In the video below, McElroy Metal’s Senior Vice President, Ken Gieseke, talks with Michael Christie of Spear Commercial and Industrial to discuss the benefits of installing solar on metal roofing projects.
