In 2015 the University of Arkansas completed a new academic building to house labs and classroom space. Champions Hall, the universities first new classroom building since 2007, went on to win the 2016 MCA Chairman’s Award for Education – Colleges and Universities.

Champions Hall was built to house math and biology labs, general classroom space, and resource centers designed to be a hub for students.

Designed by the Fayetteville firm of Miller Boskus Lack Architects with the SmithGroupJJR of Phoenix, Arizona, Champions Hall is a 62,000 square foot multipurpose building funded, in part, but the University of Arkansas athletics department.

The building utilizes standing seam metal roof panels along with metal wall panels to allow it to blend in with other nearby academic buildings. The metal used was regionally sourced and manufactured with highly recycled content to help contribute to LEED credits.
